Hi Win,
I’ve declared 2010 my year for letting go… of physical things and emotional of course.
One of the most interesting things I’ve been toying with is the experience of throwing things out. Literally. I collect so many things because I am an artist. My studio and house are overflowing with beautiful found objects.
But I am loving the new experience of leaving things behind, and even more revolutionary for me, throwing them out. Thanks for more inspiration on the path of lightening up.
All love,
Riva

Win, I like this on several levels. I assume the title carries a reference to the book “The Things They Carried,” by Tim O’Brien (please forgive my presumption if it does not), which contains one of my favorite passages:
“A true war story is never moral. It does not instruct, nor encourage virtue, nor suggest models of proper human behavior, nor restrain men from doing the things men have always done. If a story seems moral, do not believe it. If at the end of a war story you feel uplifted, or if you feel that some small bit of rectitude has been salvaged from the larger waste, then you have been made the victim of a very old and terrible lie.”
