Win Harper | Life and Leadership Coach

About Win Harper

In 1998, I completed the Coaches Training Institute’s training, and became a life coach.  For the past 5 years, I have been the staff life coach and a faculty member at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies.  I pioneered Life Coaching for the seasonal staff at Omega, the nation’s largest holistic education center in the USA.  During that time, I have coached over 1000 individuals, taught classes on how to live a fulfilled life, ran leadership seminars, and with my wife, Elizabeth, led workshops on “InSight and InTuition: Living a Purposeful Life” for the Omega winter program in Costa Rica.

Coaching is my “Life Purpose,” the impact I naturally have in this world.  I believe that all of my education and life experiences have been preparing me for this profession.

I am a retired U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel.  During my twenty-six years of service, I held many leadership positions including Battery Commander in Combat (Vietnam 1967-68), Series and Company Commander at the Marine Corps Recruit Training, Company Commander of Officer training, and the Project Manager for the Joint Army-Marine Corps program to develop Unmanned Ground Vehicles.  My military medals include the Legion of Merit, the Purple Heart, Navy Commendation, and Navy Achievement with Combat V.

Since retiring in 1992, I have worked as a Time Management Consultant, a clerk in a bookstore and coffee shop, and a telephone operator for UPS.  Before becoming the staff life coach, I was a seasonal staff member, Department Head, and operations assistant at Omega.

I also have a wide variety of personal interests, such as, training for a private pilot license, owning and captaining my own sailboat, acting in community theater, running a marathon, backpacking eight hundred miles of the Appalachian Trail, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, and achieving Competent Toastmaster.  I have a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Rutgers University, and a Masters of Science in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.

I am a member of the International Coach Federation and I honor their Code of Ethics (click to read).
